Aoki Kaoru is a 26-year-old woman who has never had a boyfriend. Normally unattached and unmotivated in her own life, Kaoru decides to start up a nail salon as a side business in addition to her regular job as a medical clerk. Although having a severe adversity to physical touch, she is forced to confront that fear when she meets a man who can’t help but touch others.
Candy’s Rating: 9/10
Candy’s Notes: Dear sweet jebus, another GORGEOUS art manga. Look at it…LOOK AT IT! It’s freaking amazing! I’m on love with the mangakas art, so serious. Okay enough of that, about the actual story. I really enjoy the actual story. It’s about our lovely Kaoru and her search for something different in her life. She starts a nail salon by renting out some space in college friends new workplace. Now this college friend is mad adrobz, and as we learn really quick, has feelings for Kaoru, but senpai won’t notice him. However she does notice the doctor at the hospital she works out. When he touches her, she realizes she isn’t afraid, and so she constantly ponders why shes okay with it. We kinda get to watch a coming of age, for an adult lady, which has it’s own appeals. The story is very mature, as one would expect from a josei. They focus more on issues like having sex rather than holding hands, though the ability to touch her causes that to be a focus as well. It’s a really like back and forth story, as in I don’t know who to root for. We have this sweet baby vs this mature older man. Thing is, the doctor has his own issues and reasons for not wanting to get with Kaoru. The second he gives in, due to her amazing persuasion, he’s given more of them. That’s another reason I love this manga. Kaoru knows what she wants, she doesn’t care. She like, will give every reason and argument to get it. She just wants tot figure herself out and the meaning behind things. Honestly I can’t help but love her due to the focus on her inner thoughts. She comes off as an actual human, questioning their life, trying to figure out where they want to go and what they want to do. I adore this manga, the characters are all really freaking interesting and the art is top notch. Unfortunately, there’s a lot that hasn’t been translated yet, so I’m not sure how its gonna go, bit so far, no overbearing drama.
