Last Game

He’s rich, he’s smart, girls gather around him all the time, and he has always gotten first place on his exams… well, until Kujou transferred in his primary school class. She was quiet, plain, and poor, yet not once has she failed at beating Yanagi, both in academics and sports! Yanagi has made it his life goal to defeat this girl Kujou, and ten years later, as they enter high school, he just might finally win! This is the story of their last game.

Avelys Notes: I love both the female and male lead. Their characters are likable and dynamic is a great read.  The male lead does everything he can to get the girl to fall in love with him, making it into a very important game. The game to make him fall in love with him. What turns out to be a revenge plot becomes something more. The girl is very timid and isn’t aware of her surroundings, much like Kimi no Todoke. Imagine the male lead being Tamaki from Ouran Host Club and there you have it. Don’t be fooled by the manga cover, there is a time skip and we see them both at college. Highly recommend for an adorable and romantic fix.

Candy’s Notes: I adore this manga because how absolutely precious it is. It’s funny and cute and the drama is like non existent, except when necessary because our lovable main girl is so dense. I usually hate characters like that but it works here because if the male lead. They create an amazing dynamic that keeps me laughing and wanting to hugging them both at the same time.  The side characters aren’t too fleshed out, but they serve their purposes so there’s nothing to complain about there. The art is alright to me, it’s not amazing but it certainly isn’t bad at all. It’s a really good read if you like anti-social girls and popular boys love stories, or if you like stories with the characters not in high school.
