Avelys Notes: Slow development, cute art and so much diabetes. This series made me smile the entire time. We have an extremely shy main character who is kind of dared to ask a guy out. To her surprise, he agrees and here begins our story. The characters are incredibly adorable. They’re so pure and innocent with the best intentions. The story is very similar to other popular manga such as Hibi Chouchou and Kimi ni Todoke. At least that’s the similarities concerning the main character. Beautiful, very shy and finds it hard to approach the male lead. She is probably the most timid character I have read. She is extraordinarily scared of making any sort of contact with other males. I find her development rewarding as she starts to become close to the male lead. He is more forward (as they usually are) and very perceptive to her moods. There are things he’s finding out for the first time which makes their interaction so heart warming. I do really like how the side characters are incorporated in this manga. We see things for the other lead’s perspective and the commentary of their inner circle (and reactions). It’s like they’re all involved in this relationship which adds a few comedic elements. Even now, I’m smiling while writing about this story. It somehow really won me over. Probably more to do with the adorable art. Their faces are so round! This manga is currently finished publishing but ongoing scantalation. I recommend this series if you have patience for very slow romantic development and if you have medication for potential overdose on sugar.
