Nakamura Mei is a very simple high school girl. While at a cafe with her friends, they bump in to -none other than- the model Shirou’s table. Mei apologizes and that’s when Shirou notices something. Grabbing her he takes her outside with him and reveals that Mei was once a kids model—and that he’s her idol-otaku!?
Avelys Rating: 7/10
Avelys Notes: This mangaka never ceases to make me fall head over heels with her art. Even if her stories are kind of odd and not always good, it’s all worth it for the art. This story has a good story. The premise is similar to Paradise Kiss and other stories we’ve all read about, so it isn’t anything original. The dynamic between the two characters is really good as they try to push each other to become a better version of themselves. It felt like it would be a really healthy relationship. There isn’t that much romance, in case you’re looking for that. There are some funny scenes, but I think the main focus of the manga was on “finding yourself” (and the art). Recommend if you’re an art junkie.
Candy’s Rating: 8/10
Candy’s Notes: Good art + fashion/modeling and I’m all over that beast. This manga was endearing, but it lacked on the romance aspect until the very end. Most of it was about Mei trying to get back into the modeling world and catch up to Shirou. Eventually Shirou starts getting worried she’s leaving her behind and insert some really cute scenes. I spent a lot of time in the manga wondering if they were actually dating or not, because both of their feelings were obvious for each other. I did like the focus given on her trying to boost her confidence and and have more of a presence. Eventually she wasn’t just relying on him, but he was relying on her too. Omg that bite scene made me sooooo giddy. This manga got soooooo cute towards the end. Especially when it becomes about him breaking out of his shell when she’s reached what she wanted to do. The ending was a bit….I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it.
ALSO Included in manga:

8/10 :::: My favorite part of this manga. The story was heartwarming and beautiful. Made me tear up at how well it was done. Highly recommend.

6/10 :::: Cute but nothing out of the ordinary.

I read this before. I agree with you. The art is beautiful, but I didn’t really like the story that much. It’s also too short for my taste, but nonetheless an enjoyable read.
Did you read that one shot? It was seriously the best part of the manga ;_____________;
No, I didn’t read the one-shot. I only read the main story. Is it a totally different story or is it somehow connected to “Film Girl”?
It’s completely different 😀
I have been betrayed!
What do you mean you have been betrayed? Just curious.

Oh, I see. Why don’t you do your own version? Does it have to be one post per series?
