Reo is tomboy Aiko’s rival, and Ai strives to beat him in everything – like basketball and popularity – but her efforts always fail with Reo always coming out on top. Then one day, she sees her break come through: her brother offers her a job at his maid cafe! But how will tomboy Ai ever be able to pass off as a cute maid? With a wig and a bit of makeup, this becomes possible. She’s so much of a different person, even Reo doesn’t recognize her! But things start becoming strange when Reo shows interest in her, asking out “Mai” on a date. Ai agrees, with plans in mind to get him to fall in love with her so she can later dump him. Will Ai finally win over Reo, or will her plan backfire just like her many others?
Candy’s Rating: 9/10
Candy’s Notes: ….The art….is too cute ;—–;. Okay I love this manga for many reasons, not just it’s art! First of all I love both sides of Ai, her tomboy and her really girly side. I’m a bit sad she’s too afraid to show her girly image because shes scared of being laughed at, but honestly that’s understandable. She’s been seen as a tomboy for so long, she thinks it’s weird for anyone to actually see her as a girl. That’s why she was so surprised when Reo confessed to liking her for so long (Is it a spoiler if it happens in the 2nd chapter?). I’m soooo freaking curious how his infatuation with her started, but the translations aren’t up to date so…suffering -sigh-. I also adore mangas where the boy falls first, and that’s what we got here, even though Ai thought she messed up. Lol I adored her plan to seduce him, and let me tell you, this little girl was determined! It was freaking great. The romance is soooo freaking cute, however we have the typical issues such as misunderstandings and being really shy to be seen in the open. They’re generally resolved really often though, so it’s not that big of an issue. If I had to say my biggest issue with this manga, it’s simply Ai being too scared. I hope she breaks out of that soon, because she’s so freaking adorbs. I honestly need more! There’s nothing too unique about the manga besides the art, but that’s not bad by any means. The characters are all likable, especially Ai’s brother, omg he’s too funny. If you want your typical shoujo story, with a bit of borderline smut (I’m pretty sure it’s gonna get there, you’ll see what I mean by them kisses), and a great female lead and fabu male lead, definitely check this one out.
